Veralma
- The 1850 House is located at 211 Hudson Street, on lower
South Hill just three blocks south of the downtown Ithaca
Commons. Hudson Street is one of the streets that lead to
Ithaca College. We have added arrows on the map
indicating possible routes to Veralma – The 1850 House.

From
the South and East (NYC, DC and Boston areas):
Take Interstate 81 or 88 to Binghamton, then Interstate 81
north to Exit 8 at Whitney Point, then NY 79 west to Ithaca.
Two blocks after crossing the City of Ithaca line, turn left
at the first traffic light onto Giles Street. Proceed downhill
across a bridge and along the Six-mile Creek gorge. At the
first stop sign, turn left onto Columbia Street. Take Columbia
west for two blocks to the flashing light. Turn right onto
Hudson Street. Proceed north one short block on Hudson Street
to Veralma, which is on the right.
Alternatively,
if you wish to travel through the downtown area: From Whitney
Point, take NY 79 into downtown Ithaca and follow signs to NY
96B south and Ithaca College. Turn half right at the bottom of
the State Street hill onto Seneca Way, which leads into East
Seneca Street. Turn left onto Cayuga Street just before the
historic Clinton House; proceed three blocks just past the
Holiday Inn and turn left onto Clinton Street. Proceed two
blocks uphill and turn right onto South Aurora Streets (Route
96B South). Proceed two blocks uphill and turn left onto
Colombia Street; go one block and turn left onto Hudson
Street. Veralma is one block downhill on the right.
From
the North (Syracuse, Watertown, Utica) or Southwest (Elmira)
Take Interstate 81 from Syracuse south to Exit 12 at Homer,
then NY 281 south to Cortland, then NY 13 to Ithaca. (From
Elmira, take NY 13 north to Ithaca). After you enter the City
of Ithaca, follow signs to NY 96B south and Ithaca College.
Once you reach NY 96B, (South Aurora Street), turn right
(uphill), and proceed two blocks to Columbia Street, turn
left, proceed one block and turn left onto Hudson Street.
Veralma is one short block north (downhill) on the right. |
